About Me

About

Danielle’s Jams, Jellies & Preserves was officially started in 2021, out of my home in San Antonio, TX. As a little girl, I always enjoyed watching both of my grandmothers, as well as my mother, cook and prepare various dishes, especially around the holidays. I loved smelling the different spices, seasonings, vegetables, etc,. they used to make their recipes extra special. The aroma from my mother’s homemade sweet potato pies, cornbread dressing and collard greens could be smelled a mile away. My grandmother, whom we called “Madea,” often made delicious homemade jams and preserves and my other grandmother, “Granny”, made the very best BBQ you’ve ever tasted! They didn’t know it at the time, but their passion for cooking awakened a passion and curiosity in me. As time went on, I eventually started to cook, sometime around the age of 7. My mother so graciously, allowed me to experiment in the kitchen, with different foods, although she didn’t like me wasting food. Eventually, by the age of 12 years old, I was cooking full course meals. Now that I’m grown, my love for cooking is still the same and I am always eager to learn new recipes. I consider Danielle’s Homemade Jams, Jellies & Preserves as a legacy of my grandmothers and my mother and the inspiration for my passion for cooking.
